Design Spotlight: Historic Hartshorn

This home was thoughtfully designed for a busy family of five and their two dogs, making functionality and practicality as important as the elegant and upscale design the clients were seeking. As this was a historic home project, it was important to keep the integrity of the bones of the house, but expand the design to reflect the family’s modern lifestyle.

As the homeowners have a love for entertaining, the first floor was opened up to create maximum space and a seamless flow that would be hospitable for the many guests that the family would entertain over the years. We used durable and practical materials throughout and created a soft millennial palette of greiges, blush and windswept blues. In addition to all of the standard home spaces (bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, etc.), we also implemented a variety of extra spaces—a cross-fit gym, a pool/cabana, two home offices, and private guest quarters—that completed the modern-meets-traditional home of their clients’ dreams.
